Dr Michael Barrett

Michael trained in Manchester in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia in 2014 where he worked in sexual health, emergency medicine, paediatrics, palliative care, and forensic medicine before becoming a general practitioner.

Michael is a prescriber of PrEP as well as an HIV S100 prescriber, and has completed further training at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre. He has a diploma in palliative medicine and a particular interest in sexual health, LGBTQIA+ health, gender-affirming care, men’s health, preventative care, and chronic disease management but is happy to manage all aspects of general practice.

Michael is originally from Northern Ireland but now lives in Melbourne with his partner and their cat, Archie.
