Dr Mehru Shakeel

Mehru is an experienced health practitioner with over 18 years of experience in hospital and general practice. Before attaining her fellowship in general practice, she had been working in hospital settings as a resident and registrar in Respiratory, Renal unit, age care, palliative care, cardiology, endocrinology, diabetes clinic, pain clinic in Northern Sydney, NSW (Royal North Shore Hospital).
Due to extensive exposure to different healthcare sub-specialties, she is confident in handling a variety of cases, including women’s health (implanon/IUD), skin cancer medicine (Dermoscopy, diagnosis & excision of a lesion), mental health, chronic disease management, and aged care.
She understands the demands and needs of specific communities and handles her consultations with great care, compassion, and expertise. With strong communication skills and an emphatic attitude, she quickly builds a rapport with patients of different backgrounds and age groups.
Mehru enjoys reading, watching movies, and doing outdoor excursions with family, especially visiting the countryside and hilly areas.
