Dr James Lynch has been appointed a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne. This Honorary Academic Appointment is held in the Department of General Practice.
The Faculty and the University awards this senior title in acknowledgement of important contributions to scholarship, past and future. This title also recognises his professional achievements, and values the association of leading clinicians with the Faculty

National Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination Program
The National Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccination Program will commence from April 2007.
From July 2007 until June 2009, free HPV vaccine (Gardasil) will be available through general practice and other immunisation providers for:
- females aged 12-18 years who missed doses during the school- based program
- females aged 18 to 26 years
New Health Check
The Federal Government has introduced a new health check. It is available for everyone aged between 45 and 49 who may be at risk of developing a health complaint, like diabetes or heart problems.
The aim of the health check is to help find, prevent or lessen the effect of disease. After all it is better to avoid disease than to treat it.
There is no cost for this service as it is fully covered by Medicare.
